Implementation deadline:
April 2020 – December 2021

The project involves the interconnection of six vertical steel holding tanks with a volume of 1,000 m3 and two horizontal steel tanks with a volume of 20 m3 in order to be able to pump wastewater according to the operational needs. The tanks are connected by steel piping in the underground part and in the above-ground part, glass-reinforced epoxy (GRE) piping is used for a total length of approximately 900 m including insulation. The steel pipe is heated by steam while the fibreglass part is heated by an electric heating cable. Two horizontal, two vertical and one submersible pumps were installed for pumping between the tanks.

Pump 5610-P64 was installed including a new concrete foundation and steel shelter. For the connection of the 5610-ST26 and 5610-ST27 tanks, a reconstruction of the shell was necessary at the point of the new flared fitting, i.e., intervention in the shell = strength recalculation. The tank flared fitting of the SO6510-H01,1/2 tanks also had to be modified to ensure the vertical pumps were perfectly vertical.

The complete control of pumping is provided through the central control room by means of electrically controlled valves.
